Finance Yorkshire Board Members

After a career as Group Finance Director of a number of FTSE companies, including Kelda Group plc, where he was also Deputy CEO, James is currently Chairman of two plc’s and senior non-executive Director of two others.
James was Master Cutler in 2009/10 and was appointed the first Chairman of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) in 2010.

Tony joined Westminster Bank in 1967, later to become National Westminster Bank and then Royal Bank of Scotland. He developed wide ranging management experience during his banking career covering administration, human resources, corporate and commercial lending, strategy, retail sales management and corporate management.
In 2003, he left the bank to set up his own advisory business, Zenith Management, before being elected to the board at South Yorkshire Investment Fund two years later.

Jennie has lived in Scarborough for the last 13 years. She graduated from Southampton University in 1984 with a first class honours degree in economics. Since then she has spent her career in Equity Investment working as an analyst and fund manager for Abbey Life, BZW and Norwich Union.
More recently Jenny has worked on a consultancy basis and has been a Non Executive Director of her local hospital Trust.

David has spent his career in corporate finance, commercial and investment banking and private equity. He is now a non-executive director with a wide portfolio of business interests.
David is a member of the Securities Institute and holds the Corporate Finance qualification of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
David is also a trustee and Honorary Treasurer of Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.

CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Capital for Enterprise. Previously he was Senior Investment Manager at Westport Private Equity Ltd, designing and investing in venture capital funds around the world. Rory was responsible for developing and implementing the UK Government's first interventions in venture capital funds in the 1990s. He has been Chair of, and investor in a successful University spinout company, chair of an EU expert group on risk capital, member of the Investment Task Force advising UK Government and was also a Director of Greece's first venture capital investment company (TANEO)

As chief executive of Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce, Ian has an extensive knowledge of business, lobbying and regeneration issues across the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Ian has previously worked at the House of Commons, in the Australian Parliament, as well as lecturing in British Politics at Leeds University.

Peter is chief executive of Beverly Building Society, a non-executive director for Leeds NHS, a former director of Yorkshire Bank and former chief executive of West Yorkshire Tourism.
Peter has extensive UK and international experience, having worked in Australia (National Australia Bank), New Zealand (Bank of New Zealand) and the United States (Michigan National Bank).

A qualified Solicitor, John is also an elected member of North Yorkshire County Council where he holds the Finance portfolio on the Council's Executive Committee.
In addition John is Chairman of NYnet Ltd, Engineered Assistance Ltd and Partnership Investment Finance Ltd.
