HJC Design Ltd was established by Managing Director Matthew Conley a decade ago to create innovative designs, combined with manufacturing proficiency to deliver solutions that are user driven and value engineered. The design team now works across the consumer, industrial, automotive, food and beverage, medical and sports sectors, creating exciting products to launch new brands.

The Company

HJC Design is an award winning product design and manufacture consultancy based in Yorkshire. From initial concept through to manufacture, HJC Design creates inspiring products and new corporate identities that offer real value and bottom line benefit. Customers include Ring Automotive, 3M, Brandon Medical Ltd and Bartec USA. The firm recently relocated to new studio premises within Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter.

The Challenge

A period of expansion was anticipated following the move to new premises, and funding was required to delivery new client services and aid continued growth.

The Solution

A £40,000 Business Loan from Finance Yorkshire has provided vital working capital to purchase additional equipment and enable ongoing expansion.

Managing Director, Matthew Conley said: “This Business Loan comes at a really opportune time for the business as we enter a new stage of development and growth.”

The Investment Rationale

Finance Yorkshire Portfolio Manager David Ward said: “HJC Design is an established business, so we were confident of its credentials and integrity. The firm has defied the difficult conditions of recent years to achieve consistent growth, and we’re confident it will grow from strength to strength at its new location.”

Future expectations

Finance Yorkshire anticipates increased turnover and profitability, alongside a growing customer base and job creation.
