Turbine Efficiency triumphs at Business Awards

Finance Yorkshire is toasting the success of investee company Turbine Efficiency that has triumphed at three prestigious business awards events in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

The company – in which Finance Yorkshire has invested almost £1.8 million from its Equity Linked Fund – was named Exporter of the Year at the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards 2014 and the Lincolnshire Energy Awards 2014, and Large Business of the Year at the Lincolnshire Media Business Awards 2014.

Doncaster-based Turbine Efficiency specialises in the supply and maintenance of gas turbines around the world. International sales account for approximately 85 per cent of its annual turnover, which is growing by more than 20 per cent a year and is expected to exceed £10m in 2014.

The company employs more than 60 staff across its two sites in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and plans to increase the workforce by a further 20% in the next 12 months.

The awards show just how far we have come as a business and demonstrate the hard work, dedication and considerable skill of all our employees.”

To date, Finance Yorkshire has made 673 investments totalling more than £85.5 million.

Finance Yorkshire is supported financially by the European Union. It has attracted £30million investment from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of Europe’s support for the region’s economic development through the Yorkshire and Humber ERDF Programme, £15million from UK Government and £45million match funding from the European Investment Bank.
