Business Round Up
This year’s MADE – the Entrepreneur Festival in Sheffield – proved a hugely popular and valuable event for all those attending.
Finance Yorkshire exhibited at the three-day business festival in September and Chief Executive Alex McWhirter took part in a panel discussion about ‘What makes a great entrepreneur and how can we make more of them?’
The panel also featured the Chief Executive of Sheffield Forgemasters, Graham Honeyman, the BBC News Home Editor Mark Easton and fashion designer Wayne Hemingway.
Alex said: “MADE is an excellent showcase for the entrepreneurial spirit that exists not just in Yorkshire and Humber but right across the UK. This year’s event was particularly inspirational with leading business figures sharing their valuable experience and knowledge.”
Finance Yorkshire’s latest intermediary lunch also took place in September at the Village Hotel, Hull where there was lively debate between representatives from the Hull and Humber Chamber, the Humber LEP, Renewables Network and several Humber-based bankers and accountants.
The Finance Yorkshire team was busy in October, exhibiting at the Brand Yorkshire Conference, Harrogate and sponsoring the Aagrah’s 32nd Annual Business Dinner in Leeds where the theme of the evening was ‘Home grown talent for regional economic development’.
We also exhibited at the Kirklees Business Conference, part of Kirklees Business Week, in October.
Looking ahead, we are sponsoring the Women in Business Awards in November, organised by Forward Ladies. The awards recognise the achievements of professional businesswomen in Yorkshire and the North East.
