BPI, based in Normanton, is a leading asset disposal company which specialises in helping businesses to buy and sell commercial assets. BPI was founded in 2010 by managing director David Boulton.
The company
BPI has evolved from an auction house using shared industry software to run its sales into a leading commercial asset disposal company, helping businesses to dispose of their redundant machinery and equipment, quickly and efficiently.
BPI hosts over 1,200 auctions a year through its online marketplace and disposes of commercial assets for businesses, large or small, across a wide range of sectors. These include construction; plant and machinery; woodworking; engineering; commercial catering; site accommodation; transport fleet and trading stocks, giving its global audience access to an extensive collection of industry assets.
The challenge
The company’s ambition is to double the size of its turnover over the next three years and create new jobs.
Finance Yorkshire involvement
A £1.25 million investment from Finance Yorkshire’s Growth Fund has enabled the company to implement a shareholder restructure.
The investment rationale
Finance Yorkshire chief executive Alex McWhirter said: “BPI is a well-established business and it has set out an impressive growth strategy led by David and his senior management team.
“The company is in a leading position to change the way in which auction disposal of assets are managed. We invest in companies like BPI who have strong ambitions and where there are opportunities for business growth including the creation of jobs in the Yorkshire and Humber region.”
Future expectations
David said: “Finance Yorkshire’s investment has helped us put the business in a great position for the future following the restructure and a share distribution to the senior management team.”
