Konnectiv Technology Ltd
Growth Fund - Loans & Equity Case Study
In just four years, Konnectiv Technology Ltd has positioned itself at the leading edge of the growing integrated home technology market. An Equity Linked Investment from Finance Yorkshire has now put it in a unique position for growth.
The Company
Sheffield based Konnectiv, established in 2010 by Kris Hogg, designs, installs and programs home control and entertainment technology for property developers and private clients. Recently voted Integrator of the Year, it is a leader in its field, known for its unique and innovative approach to its market sector.
The Challenge
The company needed outside investment to fund a move to larger premises, as well as the working capital required in staff, sales and marketing to support its projected growth.
The Solution
A £400,000 Equity Linked investment from Finance Yorkshire has allowed Konnectiv to relocate to a new base in Sheffield, as well as invest in key new personnel including sales director Tim Marsden. Business angel David Belford introduced Konnectiv to Finance Yorkshire, and he has also invested in the business and taken on the role of Chairman.
Konnectiv Managing Director Kris Hogg said: “We are delighted to have attracted funding from Finance Yorkshire. It means that we have an investor which is not only supporting us financially, but one which is engaged with us and committed to ensuring our success. Like us, Finance Yorkshire is committed to job creation and growth in the region.”
Konnectiv’s legal team was led by Alistair Scott-Somers of Bond Dickinson in Leeds.
The Investment Rationale
Finance Yorkshire Investment Manager Darren Morris said: “Konnectiv is at the leading edge of a growing market; increasingly, home owners at the higher end expect integrated control systems as standard. We believe the business is now ideally positioned to capitalise on its already strong position.”
Future expectations
New Chairman David Belford said: “Konnectiv has grown year-on-year to the point where investment was needed to create the jobs required to take the business further. The home technology market in the UK is growing quickly and we are now uniquely positioned to build on our exceptional reputation and growing order book.”
